this particular dress was made out of a cut-apart pottery barn kids pillowcase, which i use occasionally for their adorable fabrics. they are a bit pricey, however, ($14-18 per pillowcase) but the nice thing about using pillowcases is that the side seams are already sewn for you. unfortunately for me, i realized as soon as i opened up this pillowcase that the toile pattern ran perpendicular to the side seams, which meant i had to take apart the whole thing and start from scratch. oh well, i'm glad it turned out nicely!
