i am in the market for a new sewing machine. i would love to hear from anyone out there that can give me a review of the machine you use.
i don't even know where to start looking. there are just so many to choose from. and i am on a tight budget, so i would like to find something around $200 (or better yet, less than that!)

My name is Lauren and I am a full-time wife and mother. In my spare time, I make things and post about them here.
I learned how to sew a few years ago, when a sweet lady at my church taught me weekly lessons. When I first started, I didn't even know how to turn on my sewing machine! But within a few weeks, I was enjoying the fruits of my labor. Two sewing machines and an embroidery machine later, what began as a hobby grew into more of a small business as family and friends began to make "orders." I did this for a couple of years until my family began to grow. I don't have enough time in the current season of my life to take orders anymore, but I still enjoy sewing and making things as time allows. Thanks for visiting my blog!

I've been reading your blog for months! Actually, I grew up in FWB and up until the Air Force moved me away.
I use a Janome MC 9500 machine, and I love it! Another machine you could look in to is a Viking, a bit more on the expensive side, but both are terrific machine and user friendly!
a good machine in your price range would be a singer, DO NOT get a brother the or a lower level viking
So far, I love my brother more than my singer, but my singer was a cheaper model...
It's so hard to choose. I'd heard great things about Pfaffs, but I've never seen one I could afford or allow myself to buy. Janome's seem to get good reviews too.
