i just wanted to say a big "thank you" to everyone for sending me encouraging emails and posting such nice comments about this blog and the stuff i've been making! it makes my day! i have been feeling so blessed lately that in spite of the down-spiraling economy, that people still want to buy custom-made and personalized items!
as a stay-at-home-mom, things are tight and i had been praying for a couple of years now (before i even left my career) about what i should do to bring in a little extra money while i stayed at home. i thought the answer was going to be one thing, but it looks like it's turning out to be a sewing/embroidery business instead.
so now, i'm looking into getting a (real) business name and account, possibly a website that takes orders, tax stuff, licenses, etc....there's just so much to do, it's overwhelming... not to mention, i still have to take care of kate while i'm making "stuff." thankfully my mom lives nearby and can come up so i can have a sewing day or two during the week.
anyway, i have been tossing around business names in my head for months now. i mentioned it on the blog a long time ago, but now it's almost necessary to find one soon. recently i asked a few friends to help and i literally got about a hundred ideas, all great. i would love to ask anyone who reads this to post your ideas as well. if i use your idea, i will send you a custom coffee mug!

My name is Lauren and I am a full-time wife and mother. In my spare time, I make things and post about them here.
I learned how to sew a few years ago, when a sweet lady at my church taught me weekly lessons. When I first started, I didn't even know how to turn on my sewing machine! But within a few weeks, I was enjoying the fruits of my labor. Two sewing machines and an embroidery machine later, what began as a hobby grew into more of a small business as family and friends began to make "orders." I did this for a couple of years until my family began to grow. I don't have enough time in the current season of my life to take orders anymore, but I still enjoy sewing and making things as time allows. Thanks for visiting my blog!

Lauren, Before you let yourself get too attached to a name you might want to do a google search for online businesses to make sure that the name you want isn't out there already
I love "Sew Much Fun"! If I come up with anything new, I will let you know. (I wouldn't count on me though!) :-)
