blueeyedbaby designs: my new purse

I learned how to sew a few years ago, when a sweet lady at my church taught me weekly lessons. When I first started, I didn't even know how to turn on my sewing machine! But within a few weeks, I was enjoying the fruits of my labor. Two sewing machines and an embroidery machine later, what began as a hobby grew into more of a small business as family and friends began to make "orders." I did this for a couple of years until my family began to grow. I don't have enough time in the current season of my life to take orders anymore, but I still enjoy sewing and making things as time allows. Thanks for visiting my blog!

my new purse

well friends, i'm working my way back into sewing and embroidery again after our time with jonathan. i started out working on a new purse for myself, since i desperately needed one. well, not "desperately", but you know what i mean. i needed to get back in the swing of things with sewing and what better way to practice than to make something for myself that i actually needed?

i found this new pattern and i really love it. it's a large hobo-style bag that could easily be used for a diaper bag if you add more pockets on the inside. i added bamboo-style rings on the straps for fun and my monogram in a modern font.
